Rugby league players arrested over rape claims
SIXrugby players were arrested yesterday on suspicion of rape during a preseason tour.
Northumbria Police said: "We can confirm that a 22-year-old woman has made an allegation of rape relating to an incident in Gosforth. Six men have been arrested and are helping with inquiries." The players are from the Huddersfield Giants Rugby League squad.
After the controversies in Australia recently - this is the last thing Rugby League needs.
